Newborn Photography Session

Congratulations on your pregnancy! Soon you are going to have a wonderful bundle of joy in your life and it will undoubtedly be a life changing moment! I would love to capture this amazing moment in your life with an incredible photo shoot to document their first days so you can look back on them in years to come and remember how small and cute they were! Capturing these memories is what I love the most about being a Newborn Photographer.

When should you book?

For newborn sessions, it’s usually best to book when you are still pregnant, however it’s never too early to book! I usually advise to book a session in just after your second ultrasound scan. I will then schedule the session to be in or around your due date that can be moved if required if your baby arrives earlier or later than anticipated!

When is the best time to have a newborn photography session?

Babies are best photographed between 5-21 days old. This is the best time as your baby will still be in the sleepy stages and can be posed more easily. Once your baby arrives, I will book in an exact time for you to come to the studio for your session.

If your baby is already over 3 weeks old, I can still offer a newborn session up until they are 8 weeks old, however they may not be as sleepy to position but I will still capture some very cute photos! I have photographed babies right up to 15 weeks old!

How long does a newborn photography session last?

Newborn photography sessions usually last 3 - 4 hours for a full session. This gives me lots of time to capture some beautiful photographs and allows for frequent soothing and feeding your baby if required. Nothing is rushed and I have plenty of hot & cold drinks for you to relax. Throughout the session, your babies safety and comfort is my absolute priority! It is best to bring at least 2-3 feeds if baby is bottle fed and a dummy if used.

What should we bring to a newborn photography session?

I supply everything for your babies newborn photography session. I have lots of props including wraps, outfits, hats and headbands and each session is styled for you individually. If you have any specific colours you like I will always ask for your input. If you have a special soft toy or something important you would like to incorporate into your session, please bring it with you. I would advise you to bring some lunch and snacks for parents & siblings.

Can family be in the session as well?

Yes most certainly and I feel they are so important. These are some of my favourite photos to capture during a newborn session and something you will undoubtedly treasure for years to come! I will usually capture family photos first before the main newborn session.

How long after the session will we receive the photos?

I will arrange a viewing appointment usually within 1 -2 weeks after your newborn session.

Newborn Photography Pricing

There is a minimum spend of £299 due to time spent on your session, editing, processing and cost of products.

A £99 non- refundable deposit is required to secure your date and session, this will be deducted from your final order.

The remaining balance is due on the day of your viewing session.
