Newborn Photoshoot near me

Ask any Staffordshire new-born photographer and they will agree with me that it is simply the best job in the world.  If you see those beautiful images of new-born photo shoots and wonder just how you can go about arranging that for your up and coming arrival then read on.  In this blog I will answer the most commonly asked questions about new-born baby photography.

But, first things first, Congratulations! You have a beautiful baby on the way.

When is the best time to have a New-born baby photo shoot?

New-borns are best photographed between 4 and 14 days old as this is the time when they are most sleepy and comfortable curling into those beautiful poses.  Though we can still achieve beautiful images with babies older than that.

How do the photo shoots work?

New-born sessions take place in my professional, warm and perfectly lit studio and usually last around 3-4 hours. I always book out 4 hours for you as your baby will dictate the timetable and pace of the shoot as we will stop for milk and cuddles on demand.

It’s best to bring at least 2-3 feeds if your baby is bottle fed and a dummy if used.

New-born baby photography is always very calm and relaxed.

Where do you get your baby photo ideas from?  I have some baby photo ideas of my own.

I have a beautiful range of props and backdrops for you to choose from to create beautiful and imaginative images of your baby and we work together to ensure you get the images that you love.  Seeking out and imagining new ideas for new-born photography is without a doubt one of the most fun and creative parts of my job as a new-born photographer.  I always welcome ideas from you as well and will endeavour to deliver whatever it is you have in mind.

When should I book my New-born baby photo shoot?

It is best to book your session soon after your 20-week scan or earlier if you like.

I will then place a couple of dates based on your estimated due date and once your little one arrives; we can confirm the actual date of your shoot.  A £99 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your date and session. The deposit will of course be deducted from the cost of the images.

This isn’t my first child.  Do you do new-born photos with siblings?

You may think ‘I didn’t do it for my first so I can’t really do it for my second or third.’ But you can if you involve baby’s older brothers and sisters.  It’s a great way of capturing the family’s excitement at the newest arrival in the family.  I always love combining new-born and family photography to create beautiful images that capture this exciting time in your young family’s life.

So, if you’re thinking about celebrating your growing family by investing in beautiful new-born photography and want to learn more about it.  Why not get in touch.  I’d love to meet you and your family.
